How to Dump Someone
Here's the deal. If you have reached the point in your relationship where your are ready to call it quits, whether it is a week into the deal or 14 yrs into it..please take a moment out of your precious time to let us know you are going to dump us & why. I don't mean a long drawn out whiny, please forgive me, it's my fault, blah, blah, blah explanation which includes more lunches, dinners & other stupid ways for you to waste my time, just to tell me once again..It is over. Here's a great example. I met a handsome fella at a New Year's Eve party when I lived in Boston. We hit it off, high level of attraction, compatiable & good chemistry. We dated for awhile. You know the drill getting to know you, your friends & seeing how things unfold. I thought things were moving along swell. I was getting ready for an evening out with "M" when he arrived at my house, something was off. Hmmmmmm??? He sat me down & explained to me that we got along great and under different circumstances he could see us together, but he was Jewish & could only get serious & marry someone of his faith.   Huh? Really! This had never been discussed before & I had no idea it was even part of the relationship equation. However, this guy approached this break up with honesty & integrity by telling me how he felt & what the deal was. I was stunned & sad, but to this day appreciate that he respected me enough to tell me the truth. Which meant I was free to move on. The next guy I went out with, we dated for 3 months & got married :-) Yep, "M' cleared to path for me to find a husband. So, if it's not working, spill the beans. Tell us. We will all react differently, some will be sad, angry, heartbroken & some of us will be happy to move away from someone that doesn't care about us to find someone who does. This is my first blog about dating & they do not all have the fairytale ending of finding a husband. A girl can only be married so many times, right?   Not every situation will not be mine..thank gosh, but they will all be relatable. I hope you come back for more. |
