In honor of a really SUPER Blue Friday, take a listen to this episode of the "Beauty & the Champ" podcast where Seattle Seahawks defensive end, Greg Scruggs, remembers the night he was given his Championship ring.
I heard these shoes have magical powers. Just by wearing them you'll want to work out. I think mine are defective but at least they look cute! Alyson who works at Finish Line in Alderwood Mall saw these on me and even decided to buy a pair for herself.
Want them? Get them! Here's the link -- http://bit.ly/1CyWjVI There's even a pair online that are Seahawks colors, and on sale!
We're going after a RE-PETE!!! Many of you have asked about my Marshawn Lynch Skittles Cake from last year. Here's the recipe for you to make for your party this year!
Before you freak out! The cake is a lot easier to make than you think. First, make two round cakes as directed on the box. I used Betty Crocker’s Butter Recipe Yellow but use any light colored flavor you wish.
I found neon food coloring at Safeway that included blue, green, pink and purple dyes. I used 72 drops of blue and 96 drops of lime green. (I made sure they were derivatives of 12 because I’m superstitious!)
Let your cakes cool completely! Then carve out circles but make sure not to cut it all the way through.
Fill one cake with a bag of Skittles. I was able to fit almost an entire 16 oz bag in there! Then lightly frost the outside edges.
Place the topper cake on top as a lid and press the edges down so they sandwich together.
Frost your cake using whatever color or flavor you desire. I used white whipped frosting, blue and green sprinkles, and placed the leftover Skittles around the border. Admittedly, I’m a great baker but a crappy decorator.
Cue my fab friend Melanie who was also our party hostess. She found this oh-so-cute banner at Michael’s and it was perfect finishing touch the cake needed!
It was too pretty to eat! This Skittles Pinata Cake was awesome for our Super Bowl party. Try using different colored food dye. Fill it with M&M’s, gummy bears, or whatever and this could be great for any other occasion. Enjoy!
I'm getting into the Blue Friday spirit a little early. How awesome are these custom 12th Man boots?! I found the blue vintage boots at Boot Girl Warehouse in Fremont and the green was added for a one-of-a-kind piece. And, they were less than $50!! Go HAWKS!
Ever have one of those weekends where you couldn't have asked for anything better? Mine was filled with adventures and friends!
Friday night, I hopped onto I-90 and went to Snoqualmie Casino for Rumble on the Ridge XXX. Gooooooooolly! I think it's so sexy to watch men in the ring like that. So primal. So hot. My friends and I worked up an appetite and ate at 12 Moons Asian Bistro. Talk about some amazing sushi! Thanks to Snoqualimie Casino for having us.
I couldn't believe the AMAZING weather we were having so my bestie, Alexis, & I decided to explore. We drove over to Discovery Park in Magnolia and we just kept repeating, "WOW!" I can't belive we live here!

WARNING: An unusually schmoopy post is about to happen in honor of Nick @ Noon's birthday.
Many of you don't know that Nick and I are nearing a decade of friendship. We both started out in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I would sneak in to the radio station late at night and help Nick host his show. One time I said Taylor Swift sounded like a dying cat and our boss banned him from putting me on the air ever again. Nick still let me secretly come in and taught me how to run all of the technical stuff. He taught me valuable skills that have helped me get to where I am today in my career.
We've built a lot of memories together and I love Nick, and his wife, Kristen, as if they were my siblings. Nick moved to Seattle just a few short months before I did so it was nice to at least have one familiar face in a new place. Not to mention I love smothering their daughter, who I call my niece, Kinsley with kisses when I nanny her a few times a week.
From professional to personal and everything in between, Nick has been beyond-words an amazing friend. Happiest of days to a guy whose talent is off the charts, whose friendship is a true blessing, and who's one of the best human beings I've ever met. Thank you for being you!
Everyone asks what advice I give for losing weight and the #1 thing is to take it one day at a time. I was craving Starbucks this morning so I didn't deprive myself. Iced green tea, (No sweetener. No water.) a protein pack and a banana. I choose not to eat the bread that comes with it though. Your body will burn all of the natural sugar in the fruit throughout the day.
No matter what you have for breakfast, make sure to drink water. I try to finish a gallon of water everyday. Do I do it everday? Nope. But I get close. My sleep has improved so has the condition of my skin.
As far as supplements, I'm no doctor. These are just what I've found work for me. I take Garcinia Cambogia because it helps curb my carb cravings. Green Coffee Bean Extract helps give me a boost of energy without the jitters. It also claims to help lose weight but I'm not sure I buy that. Because I have a darker skin tone, my body needs more Vitamin D. Pair that with living in Seattle so I take 5000 IU's as suggested by my doctor. Lastly, I take Biotin to help with healthy hair, skin and nails.
Everyone is different but this is what I've found works for me. Power up & win the day! You can do it.
