What's Ellen Tailor Wearing Today - April 23, 2014

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I was RAVING about Dan + Shay's performance at the ACM Awards last weekend. They shipped me this shirt as a thank you. How sweet are these guys? Call me crazy but I also think we're long lost siblings. What do you think?

I Just Made You Say 'Underwear'

I don't normally blog about underwear but since it came up on the air this morning, I figured why the heck not. I mentioned that the most comfortable underwear I've ever found is from Target. It's like you're wearing nothing! Clicking the picture will take you right to their site.

Where To Get a Selfie Stick

You've seen selfies sticks but don't know where to find one? I think this selfie stick is the cheapest and best one out there! It's only $14.99 and comes with a bluetooth remote. Look at Dustin Lynch playing with mine for the first time in his dressing room last month.

They might look silly but seriously, get one. They're inexpensive and would make a great gift, too! Below are a bunch of different colors so just click on the photo and it'll take you right to their website. Enjoy!!!

I'm Moving!

I'm moving into my Bachelorette Pad and decided it was time to get furniture to go with it. Of course I went to Behar's in Everett. Now, to be 100% transparent, yes, I endorse them BUT I paid for all of this with my own hard earned money. I was happy to give my business to a locally owned company. Here's what I got...

My king size bed didn't fit in the my new place so I had to buy a new headboard for my smaller, queen size bed. I wanted something feminine but not girly. I LOVE this tufted headboard that I wound up buying.

Now for my living room. Since I have family and friends that visit from out of town, I needed a pull out couch to accomodate them. I snagged this awesome leather couch that folds out to a queen size bed. I was really drawn to this silver / gray piece and once I saw the studs on the side, I was sold!

Instead of pairing the couch with a matching love seat, I decided to do something different. I bought two accent chairs and was able to pick out the upholstery, too. I've really been into mixing metals. Gold and silver CAN go together! I picked out the gold pattern fabric that will really compliment the couch. And it gets better! The chairs swivel!!

Behar's offers free delivery so I don't need to worry about recruiting friends to help me drag them into my new place. Rosemary helped me furnish my place and I was shocked at how quickly she picked up on my style.

Again, I bought all of this with my own money and couldn't be happier with my experience at Behar's

An Honest Look at Losing Weight

I get asked a lot of questions about my weight loss. "How'd you do it? What plan are you on? What's the secret?" There's no secret. It's good old fashioned diet and exercise. That is the only way, I believe, to make a permanent change.

When The Emily Program reached out to me about an interview, I was caught off guard. Yes, I'm very public about my journey but I never thought anyone was actually listening. The Emily Program is nationally recognized for their compassionate and personalized approach to eating disorder awareness, treatment, and lifetime recovery. Below is an excerpt from my interview...

"For Ellen, she is now able to communicate that her walk matches her talk: 'I think one of the best things I have learned is that it's not about making yourself feel bad about where you are at within your journey--it's a process. Once I learned that, I noticed myself being nicer with how I talk and treat myself.' This lesson is one that resonates with me, and the sentiment is echoed by The Emily Program staff."

Thank you to Tiffany and The Emily Program for letting me share my story. To read the entire interview, click HERE.

New Hair!

It's back to Snow White locks for this girl. As you can see, I'm still trying to deal with the hair that I damaged last summer when I tried an ombré. Biggest mistake I ever made. I love my naturally black hair especially since the damaged ends blend in a lot better. Now all I need is a trim and I feel like a whole new woman! PS. This is an at-home dye job. Awesome, right?!
