The Story of Mike Chase
by Amy Faust
Mikel G Chase is what scientists might call a freak of nature, not to get too technical or anything. Raised by his mom in some pretty harrowing, chaotic conditions, he managed to avoid being a serial killer and instead became a successful radio personality (which is definitely better, right?)
Without a dad around, Mike looked up to the nearest available male role model, who happened to be Captain Kirk from Star Trek. His favorite way to escape from life's pressures was to sit in his room and pretend he was one of the guys he heard on the radio. What little Mikey Chase didn't know at the time, and wouldn't find out until about 25 years later, was that one of those guys on the radio was his dad! (They found each other about five years ago and compared radio career notes.)
After the chaos of his early years, Mike somehow managed to emerge as a clean-cut, law-abiding type who wore khaki pants and kept a tidy household. He started working in radio at the tender age of 19, which led him to think he didn't need a college degree. Why go to school when you can rock the greater Eugene area as the DJ "Excalibur" every night? (The name wasn't his idea, he swears.) Luckily, "Excalibur’s” skills got him noticed pretty quickly, and Mike rapidly worked his way up the radio food chain.
Many years, dozens of girlfriends, and many radio jobs later, Mike started to feel the need to settle down. Tired of making crank calls for a living on Portland's first alternative station, he hooked up with Amy and the two hatched a partnership that lead almost straight to their show on the Wolf. Amy's ability to recognize talent and then latch onto it for dear life really paid off this time.
After nine years at the Wolf, Mike finally finished college (BS in Psychology) and has settled down in more ways than one. Just when Amy was convinced that Mike would, like Seinfeld, find a crazy reason to break up with every girl he dated ("she trained her cat to pee in the toilet!"), along came Stacy, whose kindness, sense of humor and ability to tolerate Mike's tidiness have made Mike a happy man. Their 2 year old son, Fritz, is already a lot like his dad, but unlike Mike he'll grow up knowing that the guy on the radio is his daddy!

The Story of Amy Faust
by Mike Chase
Amy Faust was born with a spoon in her mouth, but it wasn't silver. It was more of a pewter, or zinc, or one of those really obscure metals on the Periodic Table. The important part for Amy wasn't the spoon's make up, but that that her parents had put delicious pudding on that spoon. It was then that Amy realized that it doesn't really matter what kind of spoon you have, but that it's what's on that spoon that matters. That pudding would have tasted just as creamy, smooth and delicious even if it had been eaten off a shoe horn...out of a frisbee...over the sink.
Amy’s parents raised her right. She gets her niceness from her mom, Alice, and her humor/smarts from her father, Jack Faust, a prominent Portland attorney and former host of KATU's "Town Hall". Amy’s down-to-earth style makes her an easy person to spend time with on BOTH sides of the microphone. Where some people are Grey Poupon and fish eggs, Amy is White Castle and fish sticks. She's always up for a laugh on the porch or over the fence, and she has the strange Bill Clinton-like ability to make anyone, especially in a crowd, feel like they are the only one in the room (in fact, when Mike and Amy had Bill Clinton on the show recently, Amy and Bill were so focused on each other that they both passed out from the intensity. Thinking quickly, Mike had to save the entire interview by asking the questions and then replying in his best Bill Clinton voice. Fortunately, no one was the wiser).
Following college in Southern California, along with stints in France and New York (where she edited, among other things, books for Peter Jennings), Amy has made a name for herself in hometown Portland, Oregon. She loves it here because of the beauty and because it is where her husband, daughter, friends and family are. Portland is home for Amy and it is where she plans to live out her sure-to-be-freakishly-long lifespan. Her grandmother, Mamoo, lived to be ninety-nine (Even John McCain was impressed)! Be sure to catch her warm, friendly style each morning (with longtime co-host, Mike Chase) on " Mike and Amy In The Morning" between six and ten am Monday-Saturday on 99.5 The Wolf, or online at www.thewolfonline.com.

With a spit-fire personality and an unbeatable knowledge of country music, Savannah Jones is a force to be reckoned with in the Portland radio market.
Consistently out-entertaining the competition, this lil' lass is as sweet as she is smart. Plus, having grown up in North Dakota, Savannah is a real-life cowgirl. As music director of 99.5 the Wolf, she has a real hand in the over-all sound and success of the station. In her role as assistant program director, it's not unusual to find her accompanying listeners to private functions and getting backstage access with country's top artists.

Our newest addition to the Wolf pack is Kris Valentine…a Midwest boy with a rich background in radio. Most recently on-air in Denver, Colorado, both adventure and a change of scenery led him to the beautiful Northwest and to the afternoons at the Wolf. A self-proclaimed “crazy and goofy guy,” he has proved he means it with his on-air antics! Afternoons are certainly in for a laugh and never a dull moment. Kris’s idea of exercise is sucking in his gut every time a pretty girl walks by and he claims he’s got that far away look…the farther away he gets, the better he looks. So far, he seems to be winning over hearts pretty effortlessly. Tune in every weekday 3-7pm to this jokester…we’re pretty confident you’ll be as impressed as we are!
